When we announced an AudioJungle wallpaper contest last month, I was not at all prepared for the barrage of jungle visual goodness that instantly began flooding our Flickr pool. With over 180 entries to select just three winners from, judging was always going to be very difficult.

QUESTION: What is running that awesome Flash Gallery. Is that something I can download?
No offense, but i think most of the runner-ups were more skillful and aesthetically pleasing. There’s good quality all around though.
Great contest everyone! Many congratulations to the many talented designers that participated. Your ideas are both inspiring and creative. I have much respect for all of you.
There are however, a couple of things I don’t really like about the first place winning wallpaper. First of all, I think the pipes in the middle of background as well as the one running horizontally through the middle are all poorly cutout. Some of the other images have a small white border around the edge while others are in need of a slight drop shadow so they don’t look so flat. But the main thing that visually jumps off the screen and makes me squirm are the backwards music notes on the left side. Music notes are like words you can’t simply reflect them.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love the design. I simply think it was made a little hastily and with just a little more attention to detail, would be worthy of it’s prize. I wouldn’t normally say anything and I don’t want to offend anyone by being too picky, but this is the first place winner. I think it could have been better.
