Creating GIFs is a topic that we often get asked about. Whenever we’ve published a tutorial on creating GIFs on Psdtuts+, like our Animated Snowman Tutorial, it’s been very popular. We thought it was about time we gave this in-demand but under-served aspect of design education its own dedicated Tuts+ site!

- Tying in with the launch of our newest Tuts+ site we’re also debuting a new Envato marketplace to a select group of Beta testers. If you’re interested in making passive income from your GIFs – meaning you make a GIF once, then sell it many times – we have an exciting announcement for you.
GifHole is looking for talented animated/static GIF artists to help set the standard for a new online GIF marketplace. Actually, I think that gifs have their days counted.
Cause they are poor in colors, and with the internet getting faster, flash can substitute them.

At first I was like “NOOOoooooooo!!!!” I hate GIF animations. WTF are tuts+ doing??? After about 5 min. when I realized it was April fools joke I laughed so hard I almost feel of my chair :D
I knew something was up when I saw the rainbow background and the papyrus text, I was well confused for a good minute there though when the article itself seemed so serious!
