Isn’t there a “no purchase necessary to win” option? To enter the contest, it appears there’s a forced buy into a Tuts Plus membership.
I’m not sure which country this operates out of, but you may want to check your local laws where sweepstakes are concerned.
Usually, you can have a promotion encouraging people to purchase something, however, there is usually always a “mail in postcard” kind of option for the people not wanting to make a purchase in order to participate.

Thanks for the information. Envato is an Australian company and we regularly have competitions run by big brands here where customers send in proof of purchase and can win prizes in return. It’s not illegal in any way shape or form – we just wanted to do something special for the people who use Plus :)
