All are good entries.

Entry 1 - I've seen this style many times. Graphics are good but the delivery in not so well. My first impression is something is missing when i look at it.

Entry 2 - Nice Fur it look real, If it is a 100% photoshop that a WOW!

Entry 3 - Vintage style design. delivery and arrangement is good.

Entry 4 - This is great. lot of effort. One this the hand tatoo doe'snt look real to me. Detailed on arms and hance are not so well.

Entry 5 - I think he/she just play around with the smudge tool. Good but i dont know if it looks good on a high resolution

@Paul D: Thanks for your compliment. As a matter of fact the beach scene is made from scratch and I'd love to explain the process. However, I believe it would be for everyone's best interest if this would be published right here on PSDTUTS. Who knows? Perhaps someday this might become a nice tutorial...

@Sean Hodge: I am very happy that originality is highly promoted here. It's amazing what a few excellent tips and a little constructive competition can do! We've all seen amazing designs within this competition from a variety of different people. I have personally had much to learn from the tutorials, but the direct application completed my learning cycle. That's what I consider making the most of PSDTUTS.

@Anon, have you watched the making of one of the icons video? http://vimeo.com/953794 I know that the quality isn't the best, but perhaps you'll be able to see that it has been done using same techniques as shown in the 'helmet icon tutorial' here on psdtuts.com.

what exactly do you mean by "which I can see no part of it the work"? what part of tutorial would you like to see in the work? yellow helmet? i don't think this particular tutorial was written just to teach you how to make a yellow helmet icon but to teach you some techniques which you can use in designing whatever you want - for example a gameboy or an old tv.

the fact that i used different reference photos, different colors, and made it more complicated - doesn't mean i didn't use techniques shown in the tutorial.

@ Sean Hodge

Thanks for replying to my issue. I like to keep things fair in competitions like these, as with such a loose based contest competition , many designers who have spent a considerable amount of time on a piece of work that they have created in the past will simply alter it slightly and submit it as if it was made for the specific contest.
Believe me, I've seen it done many times before in Graphic Competitions and it really gives no chance for people who have done it by the book and created something specifically to win a contest.

Anyway, i don't think I have the time to enter this competition, but from my experience I would just like to keep it fair :)
