New Exclusive PLUS Tutorial that Mixes Colorful Shapes and Images Powerfully
This new PLUS Tutorial is titled "How to Create a Digital Collage with 3D Shapes, Patterns, & Colors." This tutorial is authored by Ee Venn Soh, a graphic designer and illustrator from Malaysia. His works are saturated mixed media of colors balance, shapes, and photo manipulation.
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to create a photo manipulation that blends with a main image. How to create various patterns and shapes that blend along with a collage will be covered in detail. You will be guided through how to create 3D shapes with shading and a colorful perspective. We will also apply final touches like color adjustments and achieve a super Apple-li-cious result!

Again with the 3D? Could you please incorporate some “normal” Tuts using 3D elements?
Thanks for Nothin………..Just Kidding its not your fault im cheap.
Have a Nice Day.
First???
OHHHHHHHHH MANNNNNNNNNNN
comon guys!!!!
i wouldnt even read the tutorial if it was FREE!!!!
doesnt look like it got anything worthy of my time!
WOW! Great effort. It definitely worth the money out.
nice, i like the final colors
malisimo…very bad :S
Uff nothing that would call my attention..
1) the tutorial looks mad boring
2) I can’t believe its for Plus Users if it’s not even good for free.
3) the concept is retarted.. Looks like just copy and paste little pieces of “Paper” and thats It.
Nothing interesting… should be deleted from plus because it doesn’t even look good for a free tutorial…
Looks like random cut out’s everywhere
I dont like that m8

This is freaking awesome! Really unique and nice style.
I like this tutorial, its not just about how to put random shapes on the page, its about design and color, I think it’s great overall…
Looks decent for learning 3D… but I don’t really like the final results.
The previous comments seem to focus on personal taste, and not the tutorial. Is it a good tutorial? Well written? Easy to follow?
Maybe you don’t like the image, but that’s neither here nor there. In the real world, we graphic “artists” actually have to produce quite a bit of work we aren’t crazy about. It has nothing to do with our taste (or art), but what the client demands.
The tutorials are meant to teach techniques. How you take those and run with them is your choice. Creativity, art, taste… those aren’t actually things that can be taught. Why not critique what is being taught instead of griping about what is not?
Cheers. Don’t be so serious, people.
Rightly said .. ^ I agree…
its abt wut u learn outta’ this tut….
cheers
P.S. Thanx for the tut….
Looking Great! Love it!
sorry but these last PLUS tuts are quite deceptive. I paid $9 for tuts which are not better than the free ones.
The zombie thing wasn’t good enough to be a PLUS tut (should have been for free) and this one should be for free to. Don’t think that a tut is great because there’s 3D in it. PSDtuts PLUS should focus on photoshop techniques making this software awesome.
PS: I agree with neil too, but when you learn something, you should be able to see how great is the result. If I show you how to use a brush by doing a line, you will understand how to use it and what it’s made for. But if I use it to paint a complete scene, you’ll see the potential of the tool and techniques
Sorry this looks like something I would have done in my intro to photoshop class back in high school.. when I used PS 5. Not PLUS Tut worthy.. or at least in my opinion.
looking nice. good for those in plus
I don’t know what techniques that will be used in this tut because I’m not a plus member, but frankly speaking I don’t like the final outcome.
Looking good
Already have seen much better and interesting in here.
anw HF for Plus Members
Seems that you guys don’t have a taste in minimalistic and simplicity.
A nice art doesn’t mean adding all effects and filters in. It is not pumping in all the techniques you have learned.
This tutorial shows you an artistic way in dealing things.
I think only designers will be able to appreciate it.
The author’s portfolio is great.
It really teaches many new things i didn’t think about.
I love this tut.
Typical “Ee Venn Soh” style of design
Always inspirational and colorful. Great tutorial!
Keep it up
classic & retro.
really something new and fresh in psdtuts.
it really covers some new techniques.
I like the style, it’s different and stands out, plus I am a fan of green
. Cannot wait until I have some time to check it out.
Great job Sean.
this site is off my favorite list for sure.
Meh… The artwork doesn’t look complete, even though I’m sure they used some good techniques. It lacks a lot of depth.
Some of you guys need to stop being so pissy, this is one of those tutorials that doesn’t have a great outcome but the technique is the focus…If you can use the technique correctly you can create some of your own original pieces.
The people that look at only the end result are the ones that will only stick with the one style their taught off this site and keep repeating it until it becomes hugely unoriginal…
the final outcome does lack depth and is far from interesting, even though it was inspired by a great style.
This isn’t my cup of tea either but I think it’s important to realize how incredibly difficult it would be, for Sean, to consistently put out tutorials with great techniques that have a perfect outcome.
In my opinion it is not plus worthy. One has to recognize, that this is a commercial site. The guys want to make money with the membership concept. The free tutorials are candy to keep us coming back and finally buy the product.
Don´t get me wrong – this is perfectly fine with me. I am willing to pay for a good product. The problem is – few of the plus tuts seem to be good products, so why should i buy them?
I love your free tuts and i definately would sign up for plus, if that would take me to a level higher than the one i can reach with free stuff.
So guys, you have to make your Big Mac a bit tastier, otherwise i will stick with the giveaway fries!
I find this tut amazing.
It teaches in details how to do collage, shapes and patterns.
Which is the purpose of the tutorial.
and i think the outcome is really great.
it has the originality and style.
Amazing stuffs at PSDTUTS!
can’t rate the turorial ofcourse, as i don’t have a plus membership. but the image itself has inspired me to make stuff already, might’ve even made me come up with the techniques myself.
the blurred boxes that got this censor (probably spelled wrong) feeling to it, never thought of using blurs that way… even though it’s so obvious.
to the people bitching about a tutorial not being good, because the end result isn’t in their personal lines of awesome. please read Neil’s comment, he’s spot on with what he said there.
and to the people that ‘rate’ tutorials on seeing a picture, without being able to read the way the author has acquired such effects. go shame.
keep it up psdtuts
Reaaaallllly love this.
Unique and interesting outcome!
This is superb!
Nice job sean!
hey i saw this as a daily deviation on deviantart!
the author definitely has some styles!
gotta learn the secrets behind.
My this site is too money grubbing for my liking. We are all artist/young artist why arent we just supporteach other.
