New Exclusive Premium Tutorial on Creating 3D Text
I am Barton Damer, a still and motion graphic artist that loves using Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Cinema 4D to create commercial artwork. Check out more of my work at bartondamer.com or see what I’m up to at alreadybeenchewed.net.
I originally developed this Vertigo logo and rendered a 3D version of it using Cinema 4D. However, for this tutorial I really wanted to find a way to get hot 3D text without using a 3D dedicated program. In this tutorial I will create shiny retro-fitted text using a touch of Illustrator and a whole-lotta Photoshop!

A Detailed Retro Metal 3D Tutorial
Here are some of the things I will cover in this tutorial: 3D Extrusion Tool in Illustrator, creating Layer Styles in Photoshop, applying Layer Modes in Photoshop, using the Blend Tool in Illustrator, and texturing to give a retro-grit to your final image. Each step of this tutorial is covered in detail.
