Kinda weird but cool. Lol. After visiting this site so much, I may get a PLUS membership pretty soon here.
( )Timothy February 11th
I second the weirdness
( )Derek Herman February 11th
@Nick That’s probably a good idea since next week plus is going to be even better. Stay tuned form some awesome changes to the way plus works and looks…
( )Frederik February 11th
That looks pretty awsome. Looking forward to this one!
( )Kelsey February 11th
this makes me wish i had money for plus -_-
( )Fredrik Livijn February 11th
I would sooooo love to become a plus member, but since you don’t have a good payment system, I simply can’t. Please add a system which involves pay-by-call or something.
( )reuber1 February 11th
Any details on the Plus changes? I’ve been on the fence.
( )Kard Sharp February 11th
Plus is too expensive. I spended all my monies on photoshop.
( )TRA February 11th
Plus membership is great, I would definitely go for it. Top notch tutorials for a pretty good monthly or tri-monthly rate. If you’re on the fence I would do it.
( )TRA February 11th
Oops, not tri-monthly! Quarterly! $9 for monthly, $22 for quarterly.
( )??? February 11th
very low tuts.. dude!!!
( )loswl February 12th
Looks like some neat tecniques with the warp tool! :0)
( )insic February 12th
hmmm just curious did you guys draw the maniquen from scratch? im sure you did!
( )MrCDawg February 12th
I don’t know… I had a PLUS membership a few months ago but the quality has dropped so significantly I can’t believe it.
( )I really hope these changes you say are good because PSDTUTS is going down the drain.
Lee Milthorpe February 12th
Woah the results look fantastic!
Great action scene!
( )ZaFaR February 12th
looks pretty
( )KSC February 12th
Bardzo ciekawy efekt, tutorial na 6 xD
No i profesjonalizm widoczny w każdym detalu.
Very interesting effects, tutorial is very fine & cool
( )Profeesional work in every detail.
JJ February 12th
I don’t get it..? this one is a bit weird and does not seem to have the amazing standard that we have come to expect. add a bit of colour or other elements and I think you would have a much better design, but this is just one persons opinion…
( )Lee Rock February 12th
I dont like that. i just dont get what its supposed to be.regardless of any techniques it could teach people if the outcome is poor then it wont inspire anyone.
( )Sean Hodge February 12th
Here is my interpretation of the tutorial after editing it.
First off there is a big Matrix/KungFu/Futuristic feel. The mannequins could be replaced with images of actual people when you make your own artwork. They are images and not drawn. The blocks that the mannequins are dodging could also be replaced with things like bullets, knifes, or any crazy thing you can think of.
It’s an action scene being created. Wojciech goes into great detail on applying shading to the characters/mannequins. You’ll also learn how to use images to create the motion trails behind the blocks. And numerous other details.
Let me know if you have other questions. What on first glance may appear strange, or different, is fairly straight forwardly covered in the tutorial. And the techniques can be applied broadly when creating your own images. Thx.

thank you thank you for being here to educate the masses
( )Bob Vila February 12th
Collis needs to take a few days to write some good tutorials. That’ll be the only way to get out of this rut.

“I don’t know… I had a PLUS membership a few months ago but the quality has dropped so significantly I can’t believe it.

I too am in the same boat. Had a membership for about 6 months and then the quality of the plus tuts were getting worse and worse with occasionally some good ones. Its a good site and all, just a bit disappointed with the quality of the tutorials as of late. If the quality starts to pick up then I may renew my subscription but until then its gonna be on the back burner.
( )aMs February 12th
“Its a good site and all, just a bit disappointed with the quality of the tutorials as of late” I have no idea what do you mean saying QUALITY, if this is not quality image (and the latest ones) then what is? I can’t stand people whining on almost every tutorial. Maybe you should at last understand that PSDTUTS is showing you all areas of design, not only one bucket. There goes the variety of styles and creativity.
( )Michal J. February 12th
I guess even Bullet Time made in Photoshop wouldn’t satisfy your expectations, would it?
I love the final.
( )Kirill February 12th
Great tutorial!!!
( )Jimmy February 12th
Well, I’m pretty sure PSDTUTS knows their quality has been sucking for membership tuts.
That is soooo not true!! The quality of membership tuts are way better then free tuts.
It’s all about the techniques they show you and not just the art. The techniques are worth gold as is, but the art is up to you to make golden.
There’s your problem!
You’re just not the creative type. You’re the television watching type who just wants to be entertained with new psd tuts all the time. Actually try a tut for once and learn something.
PSDTUTS is awesome no matter what. Who does it better free or not??
( )Lee Rock February 12th
@Jimmy
So does that mean your the obnoxious type who prejudges peoples abilities just because they dont like a tutorial?
Everyone is entitled to an opinion. yours is equally ignorant as anyone else.
People who complain about free tutorials dont really have any right to do do however, anything people pay for should deliver no matter what their abilities or artistic preference.
I think PSDTUTS would benefit from having a pay as you go type service. buy the tut if it looks good and is what you’re after but if you dont like the look of it then you dont have to buy it.
Techniques learnt in any tut differ between people. some benefit, some don’t. None of us benefit from daft comments like yours judging peoples abilities based on them not liking the tutorial.
( )Jimmy February 12th
@Lee Rock
Settle down and calm your nerves.
Some who purchase memberships are expecting to be entertained more then taught a lesson. It’s your level of commitment that makes a Plus Tutorial worth what it is.
You want the pay as you go type? You want to judge a tut on it’s beautiful colors and not on the techniques that make those colors.
Maybe they should have replaced the mannequins for unicorns with big bright rainbows and flying cookies instead of ordinary blocks.
You could be right. Perhaps more color would keep you happy and I’m pretty sure the unicorn would make you extra happy.
Look buddy, PSDTUTS is awesome no matter what you say! And I’m not the only one who thinks this website is great.
If you hate PSDTUTS so much then by all means try and create something better. And please keep your daft comments to yourself. They’re not helping anyone.
( )Lee Rock February 12th
haha
you must be a real legend in the design world mate. however if you think unicorns and flying cookie make a good picture then i hope it works out for you. i cant see the pleasure in it myself.
Some who purchase a membership may want to be entertained, what does that have to do with you? life should be entertaining.
i agree, psd tuts is awesome…if you read my posts you’ll notice that i didnt knock it once…maybe you should drop the unicorns and cookies and have a read before you try and have a go at people.
your arguments are valid to youself the same way mine are to me. im not gonna enjoy something more or less just because some unicorn loving lad tells me…the same way i dont expect you to follow my rules.
i love the fact that people can say they dont like something, whats the point in being a sheep and blindly following the flock?
anyway, ill leave you to your flying cookies and awesome unicorn art. maybe you can post a tutorial on it
( )Matthew Booth February 12th
Maybe you guys need to actually read what Sean Hodge said. When you look at what the tutorial is doing then you can actually learn some very good techniques, especially the potential to do bullet trails.
A good tutorial should teach good techniques not just give you a cookie cutter result. All I ever hear judged is the result, which is an indicator someone doesn’t pay much attention to detail.
Take the tutorials, learn the techniques then contribute by showing how you used the techniques. Show you can be a creative designer rather than a sheep that goes through tuts and neglects originality.
Not every design is a point A to point B process so what may look simple may have taken a lot of time to reach.
Either be constructive, keep quiet, or validate your feelings by writing a “worthy” tutorial.
( )Jimmy February 12th
@Lee Rock
You’re so right! You’re not a sheep blindly following the flock.
You’re a strong and very healthy unicorn except you got one problem. Your horn is 2 inches short.
Now look. Be it short horns or long horns the fact remains our comments have went way off topic. It won’t be long before our comments start getting real ugly. Just like the color and size of your short horn.
For the sake of ending this you win Lee Rock. You win!
I apologize PSDTUTS for Lee Rocks ignorant remarks. I also apologize for Lee Rock being a unicorn. He can’t help it. It is what it is.
So forgive me Lee Rock, I got to go finish up that unicorn sketch. Your mom says she can only pose for a couple hours cause she’s been standing on her hooves all day.
( )rap February 12th
pure awesomeness! I wish I have money for plus tuts..
@insic – I think its the default dummy object in c4d
( )John MacMenamin February 13th
Interesting…
( )Zachary February 13th
@ Jimmy and Lee Rock
It truly makes me sad when I come on any site and find two people arguing over the internet, I’m honestly surprised by the occurrence every time. When people feel like they need to defend their egos or insecurities (and that is most definitely the only reason behind this) in general is somewhat depressing, but towards a person you have never met reaches a new low. Instead of spending your time accomplishing something, like learning this tut for example, you waste it coming back to the site again and again, to check for a response so you can gain the “upper hand” of the argument. Kill the ego and grow up.
Anyways, thank you PSDtuts for the great tutorials. I feel like people sometimes lose perspective. If anyone would take the time to combine the information from multiple tutorials and add your own style to it, you would definitely have something worth your money. I don’t understand how SPOONFED they want it.
Much love,
( )Zachary
JJ February 13th
I love reading arguments between opinionated people. both are right and yet wrong at the same time. opinion is personal and its that that keeps us different. yes the design could be better, it lacks colour and flair and the meaning behind it is lost, but at the same time the techniques used are interesting and shows how this type of effect can be created. BUT this is my opinion. to have an ‘argument’ about unicorns and such like is just strange, not to mention completely off subject (cheese covered, chocolate toaster)
The only thing that disappoints me is the fact that Jimmy has had to lover himself to use innuendos of male genitalia (either childish or secret fetish)?
lets just stop a second and think, if time travel was possible, that would explain how the dinosaurs got wiped out. Where better to test germ warfare then on them? hmmmm
( )Lee Rock February 13th
Very mature Jimmy…very mature.
( )Constantin Potorac February 13th
I for one really love this piece.
Just got the tutorial and PSD and I got to say it is awesome.
I myself bought a wood man like that one a few months ago, was planing to use it in my graphics. Had a different idea but something close to Wojciech Pijecki’s result.
Again the end result is really amazing, I also learned some new things here. This most certainly helped a lot.
Thanks
( )Constantin Potorac February 13th
Also what is wrong with black&white… there is a comment saying add a bit of color and everything should be better…. Are You Serious?
I can show you a lot of black&white pieces that are simply amazing. Check NOIRE on Deviant.
One more thing… PSDTUTS is not going anywhere “down the drain” PSDTUS has just started
Keep you eyes open for my next tutorials
( )Sarah-lee February 13th
I agree with jimmy
I have learned alot from this site … not all the tutorials have been amazing but I’ve always took atleast one thing which has helped me improve my ability.
It is one of the best tutorial sites ive come across
( )for example
http://www.goodtutorials.com
has non of its own
its just what otherp eople have put on
and its very hard to filter down the good tutorials
however on psd tuts I have managed to find alot more tutorials of a better quality without having to file through fifty pages of tutorials

Being a little tired of all the negative comments everytime a PLUS tutorial is posted, here is how I experienced this tutorial:
( )I just finished with it, and apart from very few things being slightly inclear, the tutorial was a great experienced, if not the best one yet, difinately up in the top 5. I learned tons in regard to laying down shadows, how to incorporate abstract figures, to in the end compose this awsome piece of art. I think it is a formidable tutorial, well done, and thank you for sharing it.
