  2. BroOf says:

This looks cool. I like the snakeskin on the hand.

  3. Timothy says:

Looks cool, but I don’t really dig the extended snake finger…

  4. Tadd says:

Looks pretty cool – but I’m with Timothy. I just don’t get the reasoning behind the snakefinger. But – it’s an artists vision not mine.

Glad I have the Plus membership!

  5. Sjoap says:

Looks nice, I just don’t really like the hand. I think a reaching hand would be nicer and more like just a hand not snakehand. Nice concept but could be alot better.

  6. Gotti says:

I don’t see the tut in the plus section ?

  7. me neither,where is it?

  8. Frederik says:

It’s not the result that matters, but the techninques used to obtain it. Mix the techniques learned here and your creativity, and you have something worth paying for.

  9. “Looks cool, but I don’t really dig the extended snake finger…”

Artists doesn’t see things as they are, if they did, they wouldn’t be artists – van gogh if I remember right ;>

  10. Aaron Miller says:

The hand looks great, great tones and shadows

  11. loswl says:

Cool imagery, I love the atmosphere, details on the hand, including the weird snake fingers, which adds a bit of character to the image :o )

  12. Isis says:

I really think the tecniques are most important in this case. But, to me, is clear that an “reaching” hand, softly opened could give a more interesting result for the composition.

    =)

  13. Very dramatic! Nice results!

  14. Roshan says:

    That’s great.

wow this site is a rip off

  35. Sarah-lee says:

it looks like cut and stick

  36. BB says:

You do know how to use Photoshop, but I don’t like the result. Actually, this tutorial didn’t really interest me and I would not buy a PLUS membership for this one. It may sound sentimental but: where are the ‘good old days’ of PSDtuts, when there were actually USEFUL tutorials posted? E.g., tutorials that inspire you, let you think ‘ah, that’s the way they do it, I’m gonna learn this technique and make it look the way I want it to look’.
I think a lot of the other PSDTuts readers think the same; just look at the amount of comments!
    This tutorial -> +/- 36 comments
‘older’ tutorial, Advanced Glow Effects -> 777 comments
Honestly, I am not very interested in the kind of tutorial that was written here.
I hope the next tutorials will be better.

  37. aMs says:

BB you obviously have no idea how hard it is, to keep up site like this. PSDTUTS needs to have few fresh tutorials each weak. It means they are making tutorial schedules for every month. They approve only quality tutorials with some artistic value or good techniques.

Writers need now to be above creativity, because most great effects was achieved long time ago, like the glow effect. Thousands of people go through this site, do you think you can satisfy them all?

Ishhhh, dude, start thinking a little, and apperciate what’s given to you for free. And if you don’t like the PLUS? Don’t buy it.

  38. neil says:

    it’s rude to point

  39. justin says:

wow, pretty amazing… really easy to follow which is a real pleasure being that i am fairly new to photoshop (1 year) im really happy at the way it turned out. i was able to make my image almost an exact duplicate as yours, and thats hard to do when following tutorials. 8.5/10
