The Devil's in the Detail
The living dead have been terrifying moviegoers for decades; from George A. Romero’s 1968 masterpiece "Night of the Living Dead" and Lucio Fulci’s excessively gory "Zombie Flesheaters;" right up to modern blockbusters such as "Shaun of the Dead," "28 Days Later," and "Diary of the Dead." They’ve even influenced video games, such as "Resident Evil."
This tutorial takes some inspiration from these sources and shows you how to create "The Digital Dead" poster design. Learn all the steps involved to create this menacing masterpiece. Following the export of the 3D renders, this tutorial describes every detail of this poster's creation. Members can Log in and Download! Otherwise, Join Now!

That is awesome!

Well, I’m sure the tutorial has some very nice techniques, but I personally don’t like the final result. It looks like a low-res shot from a video game. It doesn’t have that much realism.

Dammit….Finally introduce 3D elements to a tutorial but its a PLUS TuT.
Wish I wasnt such a cheap skate.

( )cheapbastid October 23rd
i will never pay for a tutorial. ever.
( )Mynes October 23rd
Yeah . . i dont mind the idea of 3D renders but i think creating your OWN 3D renders would really make the image ‘POP’ other wise it just kinda point less (my opinion)

Is this the same guy who did a similar tutorial for Computer Arts, going back maybe 4 years or so? It’s the exact same process, just looks better cos it’s the latest version of Poser.

( )Skellie October 23rd
Hehe, makes me wish I was good enough at Photoshop to try it!
( )That Namelezz Guy October 23rd
Well I suppose it’s good for a tutorial, but the resulting image itself looks cheesy and like something from pre-2000 3D rendering systems.

When I see this out coming result I really dont think about to get a plus account. Its a nice idea but I can get with real persons (photographs) a better result…. I`m not a beginner and I did some of this kind of work. Anyway – keep up this quality of tutorials!

I’m in total agreement with those saying that this looks like an early 2000 video game render. Nothing here looks particularly realistic… skin and muscle don’t tear like that, the bloodspots are just randomly placed on the body… Not at all something I would ever pay for.
I think it would be much more interesting (and far more horrifying) to see a painterly approach like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AN4VaVk7LnY
( )Elizabeth K. Barone August 12th
I agree! Watching that video gave me chills, and I so wish I could do that!
( )Nookie October 31st
