Psdtuts+ New Contest! Design an AudioJungle Wallpaper!
Great job to everybody who participated in last month’s contest. This month we are raising it up a notch. Collis has kicked in some great prizes from FlashDen and the new AudioJungle. We have more sponsors this month as well. This contest will be about creating an awesome wallpaper for the new AudioJungle site. This is going to be a lot of fun!
About the Contest
With last week’s release of AudioJungle, we’re very excited to announce a new Psdtuts+ competition to design some amazing desktop wallpapers for the new site. The theme for the wallpaper must be Audio + Jungle, and you can be as creative as you wish with bringing those two concepts together.
We have over $1500 in cash and prizes to give away. We’ll be featuring the winning wallpapers, as well as a selection of the best entries on both AudioJungle and Psdtuts+ sites. This will include your name and URL, for eternal fame and glory!
How to Enter
To enter the competition, contestants must submit a wallpaper combining the themes of “Audio” and “Jungle.” You must:
- Submit a high-quality JPG image at one of these two sizes: 1600x1200px or 1920x1200px.
Update: Flickr apparently doesn’t allow such big sizes unless you have a Pro account, so if you can, just link to the full-size image (which you could host somewhere like photobucket.com)
- Submit the wallpaper via the Psdtuts+ Flickr pool, tagged “audiojungle”.
- Include the AudioJungle logo somewhere on the image in whatever way you wish. Follow this link for the logo.
- Include in the description on your Flickr entry, the copyright notice you would like next to the wallpaper should we include it on the AudioJungle site. This should include your name and any URL you would like linked to.
- Include in the description of your Flickr entry any stock or source images you have used including URLs.

“PSDTUTS New Contest! Design an AudioJungle Screensaver”
“we’re very excited to announce a new PSDTUTS competition to design some amazing desktop wallpapers for the new site”
Screensavers or Wallpapers? or both? I have an idea, but for wallpapers : o)
Will be entering! :)
@Ags – Good catch! I’ll update the contest. It’s wallpapers. Thx.
Man I’d love to enter, it’s just really intimidating with all these expert designers around and little scrappy me trying my best doesn’t even compare to their worst days. Haha, I may submit a little something.
Muahaha…
Sounds good… :)
I might just enter this one :) Although if the talent from the last comp is anything to go by, I don’t stand a chance!
im excited. time to get out the sketch book and try and come up with a cool design. :D
@Sean Hodge
You are welcome ;)
Hmmm… interesting.
Just over 3 weeks to get the design juices flowing. I’ll give this a bash. Always worth a try! :)
This sounds like a very interesting contest. I am looking forward to see what you guys create.
Good luck to all.
geezzzzzz (c) fabio !
Some nice prizes there. I’m sure the entries will be real good.
Wow I like those prizes :D
Glad to be a sponsor. Can’t wait to see the entires!
Cool! :)
One designer can submit only one wallpaper or as much as he or she wishes to submit?
Do we need to include the audio jungle logo in the wallpaper?
@Grant Friedman – Yes, the AudioJungle logo should be included in the wallpaper design entry. Good luck! Thanks.
Yay this looks like it’s going to be awesome! And just to clarify with the logo, it can be a small part of the wallpaper (i.e. off in the corner) or it can be the focus, or well, pretty much whatever really :-)
Sounds cool… can’t wait to see some amazing contest entries.
Hey Guys,
Well first off, thanks for making me a sponser! I love how that big banner looks on your website! I’ll be getting you a new one in a day or so, when the whole new PSDChopstick launches!
I wish all of you the best of luck!
Thanks

To any ‘noobs’ worry about competing with pro designers – try your luck, everyone starts at the beginning, and you never know how your designs will be seen.
@James: Multiple entries are more than welcome!! The more the merrier I say :-)
Looking good Diesel!!
Is the use of royalty free stocks permitted?, or the use of stocks with written permission by the photographer?
Hey,
You say:
“Entries into the competition must be entirely your work. If you use stock images in the composition, you must have an appropriate license to use the image and place a link to the image used in the description of your item.”
So, as I got it right, can I just take any photo/picture and use it with putting a link to the image? Or should I get a real license from the photo site to use their photos?
And I didn’t really get what should I do with my name and copy rights. Should I make it like “© All rights reserved.” or “© -my full name”?
Wow this is great. Good luck to all of us!
Do you have to be registered in Psdtuts (paying monthly or PLUS) to , be in the contest. Or you can be a reader??
If It is not necessary to be registered i will have a try, but i thnink theres to much talent here, for me to win xD :D
Thank you so much for answering.
Great contest and this is one that i’ve made
http://www.flickr.com/photos/urbanskills/2558710921/
I’m designing a few wallpapers for the contest but I can’t actually upload the full size comp (1600×1200) without having a premium account on flickr.
Is this a problem, or should I just link the 1600×1200 from my host in my description?
Hmm, the prizes was invited me :)
so, my big question is,
could i submit a LAYOUT for audio-jungle ?
i have an bright idea for that :D
really need answer asap for that question
thx folks
This is my entry http://www.flickr.com/photos/27461402@N06/2558565137/in/pool-psdtuts
Not sure if the fullversion is available on flickr as I am a completly new member there.
Hahahah I just finished this one…”AUDIO JUNGLE – MEERKATS LOVE IT.”
http://flickr.com/photos/thinkingdiesel/2560191447/
Ok, I looked through my FREE account at Flickr, and in the YOUR ACCOUNT > PRIVACY AND PERMISSIONS it says this:
“People with free accounts aren’t able to offer their original files for download. ”
So I guess that the winner would need a pro account then?
If so that sucks.
Yeh I know.
@ STAFF: Is the free account sizing restrictions going to be a problem?

â€AUDIO JUNGLE – MEERKATS LOVE IT.â€
what if we use another uploader?
like photobucket.com (it’s pretty good – you also need an account but it’s free)
or other websites for free photo hosting like imageshack.us or holdthatpic.com
:-?? really needed flickr
Hi a doubt here:
it says “Submit a high quality JPG image at one of these two sizes: 1600x1200px or 1920x1200px”
So far all the submissions I’ve seen in the pool are smallers sizes, none is 1600×1200 or 1920×1200… question: Can we submit thumbnails or small versions from our 1600×1200 wallpaper too?
Thanks!
aGS
Flickr FREE acounts only allow you to look at the LARGE SIZE of 1024 x 768 – unless you have a pro account, you cannot see the correct sizes.
Also, from what I have read, if you are a FREE account user it says this in YOUR ACCOUNT > PRIVACY AND PERMISSIONS: ““People with free accounts aren’t able to offer their original files for download. â€
So I assume the voting will happen from the file sizes that can be viewed, whether it be 1024×768 or the correct sizes, and then once the winner is chosen, he or she sends their ORIGINAL artwork through via email….or something like that.
