We’re super excited about this new PSDTUTS Photoshop Wiki and welcome the community to keep using and growing this resource. 1. Sweet. Congrats to the winners. I’ve been honored to help jump-start this wiki and to watch this community really put its pedal to the metal. Kudos to everyone at PSDTUTS. I hope the wiki continues to thrive.

First congratulations to winers and congratulations for the wiki.
I like the wiki style very much, can someone port the style to wikipedia.org to use it with firefox’s stylish extension?

    Thank you.

I think that the wiki needs to be moderated. I mean, some articles start to get really close to tutorials, furthermore there should be clear regulations about what to post and what not to post, for instance is it restricted to photoshop only? Or the entire field of design. Furthermore, is it aimed to simply explain how a certain feature works (as in: The Layer mask icon is located in the layer palette, if you click it…bla bla) or is it there to also explain what the hell a layer mask is (e.g. a means to HIDE pixels).

It’s a great project but I feel like it’s being neglected a little.

@Easton Ellsworth – Thanks for all your expert help and advice on this project.

@Arik – Thanks for the feedback. We are exploring different options to have the Wiki moderated long-term. We’ll have an update on that in the future. And your suggestions about what to focus on in the Wiki is good. It’s certainly focused on Photoshop. Basic design principles help create better art in Photoshop, so it may be relevant to certain sections of the Wiki.

Part of a Wiki though is that the community is helping to make these kinds of decisions. So, feel free to comment on what you think the best path is.

@Winners – Congrats to the winners and it’s great to see everyone getting involved in this project.

    Thx.

I’m ecstatic that the Wiki project is going strong, and I’m honored to have been picked as a winner. Thanks to the entire PSDTUTS community, this was just my way of being able to give back, and I plan on continuing.

@Arik – I think that that is true, a clear direction for the Wiki would be nice, a mission statement if you will, and possibly organizing into groups for work on different projects, similar to how open source projects work. Both of those things(this is how a layer mask works, and this is how to get a layer mask to work), as well as being an encyclopedia(Photoshopedia) on what a tool is, how it works, what it’s best suited for, and some background on where it came from, are all things that should be there, and then those who are writing tutorials, when they are mentioning a specific tool can link to the wiki page for that tool. As far as what I’d like the wiki to become is the go to place for those looking for information about Photoshop. Beginners start there and learn the basics of Photoshop, and are then led on to other sites, rigorously tested by the community, and proven to be good sources of information. Intermediate and Advanced Users can benefit as well as a central repository for all things Photoshop that they can have at their disposal. An all around killer place to be. :D
