nice site, a little spammy with the ads in weird places. Are the scratches in the header? it might be cool to add some scratch/grunge to the background purpler gradient. Nothing over the top but since the site has the ‘urban’ theme. Also patterns of asphalt. There are some really good brushes for skylines out there too! Keep up the good work.

Those adverts do my head in, and that mailing list pop up window literally infuriated me so much that I had to leave a comment here (leaving comments is something I rarely do)

The close text on that popup window for the mailing list is not only purple like your background but it’s not selectable in the latest version of Google Chrome thanks for ruining my day!

I don’t like the idea of paying to see tutorials. What about those of us who can not afford to see these? Making a living by fallowing these tutorials and turning them into something new and creative instead of paying for them where only a limited amount of people can see it?

There are plenty of tutorials about how to make brushes, and plenty of free brushes for textures. You are paying for something of higher quality. I highly doubt anyone’s living depends on psd.tutsplus.com tutorials (besides Sean and staff haha). It is a supplement. If you workout a lot you have to pay extra to supplement your growth, same idea here.

Paying for a plus membership helps pay the bills and put food on the table of everyone involved with Envato (and the people writing tutorials). Try not to think of it as getting ripped off. You are supporting a company that aids your professional skills.

      WTF?

Don’t act like you’re entitled to free stuff. People put time and effort into these kinds of resources. You think it’s fair for you to profit off of someone else’s efforts, and they get nothing for it?

If you “can’t afford it”, then you can’t have it. If you don’t like that concept, then you’re in the wrong world.

yes….keep in mind that some people do make a living this way by selling what they make and such. If they gave all of it away for free then they don’t make any money….supplemental or in tandem with a pay by week job.

There is plenty of free on here…and it is greatly appreciated…..so if you want more…work on becoming a plus member or….work to make tutorials or sweet brushes….and see if they like them….if they do then you can become a paid user…

      like what they say here…
“We pay $150 for user submitted tutorials and articles that we publish. Anyone can send in a contribution”

Give that a try and see what you get…never hurts to experiment.

      good luck…and happy Photoshopping….

Anyone can make or get brushes like this. Get a stratch texture, invert it if it’s black, set it to multiply and make sure the background is a nice shade of white by using some levels and/or using the eraser tool and make it into a brush. Oooo look you just saved 40 dollars or however much they charge you here. ;)
