    Look promising! ;)

  2. Aevion says:

This doesn’t look like it would be that difficult to make. Looks like it would be a pretty straight forward photo-manipulation. It looks nice and all, but I’m not sure it needs to be plus.

  3. Giallo says:

    Loredana you’re gorgeous yumm :)

  4. nicolas says:

this is the Terry Pratchett’s tuts ;)

  5. massafakka says:

well i have to say this is nothing v special in here…
somehow it look v unreal with the colors and the dimensions but
you are v pretty… so will have success with it ;)

  6. Isis says:

It`s a pretty good job (not PLUS to me, but still good). I just think it could be even better with the original sand floor, instead of this cracked one.

  7. farlakes says:

nice..but not all that special and new..still nice tho

  8. Skunkie says:

This is definitely not a PLUS tut, It is OK, not more. Actually the lighting is pretty bad.

Look at the differences betwenn the left castel in the front and the right one in the back. There has to be some serious color and brightness adjustment work to be done.

I would have not said anything, if this was a regular tut. I just don´t know how you guys decide if something is PLUS.

  9. jake says:

    really nice… i wish i had a plus sub…maybe i will subscribe :D

  10. RICARDO says:

THIS THING SUCKS IM A PLUS SUSCRIBER AND IM THINKING SERIOUSLY IN CANCEL THIS MEMBERSHIP. I THINK I PREFER NOT TO SEE ANYTHING THAN THIS!!! WHATS GOING ON WITH YOU GUYS REALLY? U USED TO HAVE HIGH QUALITY TUTORIALS!!!!

  11. boyz says:

What is so plus about this tut ?I think there isn’t any techniques we haven’t learned yet ,from the look of the tutorial ..
    Masking and color grading,What else?
Good job Loredana but Psdtuts no thanks.

  12. Aevion says:

Oh, I just noticed something. Look carefully at the right-most section of the castle. The lighting is dark (in shadows) where it should be light, and light where it should be in shadows. Also, if you look at where that part (right) of the castle stops (look at the ground there) it drops off rather sharply, and on the ground where there looks like there are some rocks and stuff, they are cut off. Something doesn’t seem right about it.

Does anybody else notice the same thing?

  13. Mark Mayers says:

There seems a lot of harsh comments here, I for one like the final outcome.

I also wonder how many people comment before actually reading the whole tutorial? PLUS tutorials seem to get a lot of flack.

Loredana, well done, and don’t take the negative feedback to heart. as a regular writer here, I’ve probably got thicker skin than your turtle!

    Cheers
    Mark

We take everyone’s comments into consideration for future tutorials. And I appreciate the feedback. Those who are offering constructive criticism, this is always helpful.

Mark has some good points about those who seem to be commenting harshly without having read the tutorial. I think this is one of Loredana’s best pieces, and makes for an excellent tutorial.

We are working to bring more variety to the tutorial topics that we release, but photo-manipulation is still at the heart of Photoshop and we’ll continue to cover it as well. Thx.

      • Carlos says:

But the point isn’t that it’s another photomanipulation tutorial.. at least, I personally like photomanipulation tutorials..

The point is this is not the hardest of things to do by any means. It can be done quite easily, as you probably know.

Again this would be fair enough, but why make it a plus tutorial? That just seems unnecessary, for what it is.

I can imagine it’s a great tutorial, no doubt, and I give every credit to Loredana. From what I can see, it’s a well done piece.

  14. Brumby says:

There are so many tutorials like this, using photo manipulation to make a landscape… real art is where you physically illustrate something like this.

Not that I personally could but…

  15. TutSnips says:

Nice tuts! I think add more light in the image. The background part is a bit dark and makes more unreal. Adjusting it would be great!

  16. Kayla says:

Nice, I love photo manipulations. I’ll have to check out the tutorial in full later. I’m not sure why there are those few rants…it looks pretty high quality to me, not to mention the tutorial probably offers a lot of techniques that can be used in other scenarios…people need to take a chill pill! :)

  17. Martin says:

I´m not a PLUS Member – I don’t care if somebody is happy with the Tutorials they have in there, BUT – really look at the Castles – Look at the lightning/shadow… Without reading the tutorial I see its a Copy and Paste thing. This could really be done better!!! The Light comes from left direction when you look at Water, Turtle and the Ground. Its simply wrong on the castles…

Anyway – I´m sure that there are good tips in there.

    Greetz

    • J Mehmett says:

Yeah, the lightning thing is totally wrong. The lightning of the sand and the turtle comes from the left and then the castles have shadows on both ends.

  18. i0_ says:

    very useful!!!

  19. what says:

the cracks in the ground are WAY too big. this photo manip doesnt look hard at all (and is done badly). How is this a +tut?

  20. Artboy34 says:

Sorry, what I see is yet another surreal manipulated illustration with little application for the marketplace. It fails to inspire me to upgrade to a Plus membership, and as someone who regularly purchases illustrations for use in publications, I see a whole lot of effort put into something that is thematically lacking in focus.

Not a “plus” in my book…

  21. felix says:

No one said PSDTuts was going to help you learn new tricks for your job. Photoshop is also for hobby/art.

  22. This looks kinda ’98 to me …

  23. Ahmad El-abbar says:

Im not a plus member so i havn’t read the tut , but i think the final outcome is good , the work on the turtle is great but im not sure about the rest of the elements especially the sand , you wont find cracked up sand anywhere near water let alone the sea !!! i think it would be much better if you had left the turtle on the sandy beach it was taken from rather than moving it to another .

anyway this is just my personal opinion , congrats on the tut .

  24. mindstuck says:

i think it’s still beuatiful artwork! congrats to Author..!

  25. Jim says:

This is my first time writing here, I am a Plus member but I can’t seem to find the tutorial when I click on it’s link. All I get is the link to download the .psd file, which am not particulary very keen on since I rather read or watch the tut and create my own. It’s not just this one tut but also a few other plus tutorials. What am I missing? Help please!

  26. underdog says:

    good..but i really want that Gradient~~~~~~~

  27. victor manuel says:

ho god the photomanipulation week its tryin to coming back again,

  28. prosiek says:

Another cheesy tutorial that you have pay for…

  29. Conhuir says:

Its a very good tut.. but it seems every week theres 1-2 of these type of tuts… maybe something a bit different….seeing as im paying for this?

  30. Kris says:

Hrm.. yeah so I AM a PLUS member….

Enough with the photo manipulations! I’m so burned out on photo manipulations… and they all use the faux HDR.. going crazy.

  31. Casper says:

Papp… hungarian ancestors maybe? Or is it Romania, or Transylvania?

  32. Wow, this is surreal. Very Dali-esque!

  33. wala says:

This is nothing compare to other -100

  34. Simple and easy tutorial. Thanks for sharing this.
