When it comes to learning, everyone has their own preference, whether it’s through images, words or … by watching! That’s why I’m happy to announce that we’ve opened a Photoshop Video Channel at the very cool Vimeo video site for anyone and everyone to contribute to!
Latest Videos in the Sidebar
If you look down in our sidebar we now have a section showing the 8 most recent videos on our Photoshop Video Channel. Additionally Sean will be profiling the best couple of videos each month in a special post.
So if you’re into making videos about Photoshop, speed painting, or tutorials, then join the channel and upload your videos. There will be lots of exposure and if they’re really good you’ll see them here on the site in Sean’s wrap up post.
30 Videos Already…
To get the ball rolling the awesome duo of Gavin Steele and Howard Pinsky have uploaded 30 videos:
Gavin Steele
GSteele.com
Gavin has been video-ing up some of our tutorials from Psdtuts+, so if you’re feeling lazy to read all those words, then you can thank Gavin for bringing it all to life!
Here’s one of Gavin’s videos:
Howard Pinsky
TUTCast.com
Howard has been putting up some of his awesome video tutorials from his TUTCast project. They are really well put together and should make for some great watching!
Here’s one of Howard’s videos:
Enjoy!
So enjoy the channel. We’re still getting to know Vimeo, and they’ve recently introduced a Groups feature, so we’ll keep our eyes peeled on how to make it a better experience for all.

WICKED!!
WOW!! How great is that! I’m looking forward to see all the movies! (I’m the 2nd!)
Jeah , nice !
Super Sweet!
great idea
hey, thats prey cool
headphones up, i guess ;-)
oh yeah !!!
another words : it’s cool for foreigners users as me (I’m French), for understanding the tutorial.
Yahooooo !!!!!
Collis, I have something to say.
Please get the video thumbnails align 2 per row like flickr group ones. Else its becoming tool long :)
Higher resolution?
If I would use the video I would use them on a dual-monitor setup, on one screen the tutorial on the other my PS. Looking at such freakishly small screens wouldn’t help me on that.
But it’s a nice add-on for this site
I have been waiting for this to happen. Good stuff already in there. Congrats guys all the hard work is making a brilliant community of sites.
Is was waiting for theese! Videotuts is the way to go.. Thanks alot!
Awesome.
Nice one. A big step forward!
Fantastic news! I always enjoy watching a video – sometimes makes it easier to digest things when they’re being done in front of your eyes.
I’ve also noticed that Vimeo is gaining popularity – what’s the advantage of using Vimeo over, say, YouTube?
Shane – I’d say that vimeo looks better overall; a much cleaner interface and the actual site isn’t full of idiots trolling the comments.
L2 – If you hover over the video and click “hd is off” it’ll take you to the vimeo site where you can expand the video to full screen and watch in a very high resolution. I do this and it’s like Gavin has taken control of my pc.
Hey Rohil, it should be in two p/row format, maybe it’s a browser problem :-( I’ll do some testing, what browser are you using?
great work guys…this is sick
L2 – Higher resolution?
Its there, All you have to do is open the video on its Vimeo page, then in the bottom right corner you can select the download button.
This should ope the file in the res that it was uploaded in. And most should be crystal clear.
Hope that helps.
Gavin
Fantastic news – I always learn better by watching a video. I’m looking forward to seeing what you guys crank out!
Great news! thanks again PSDTUTS
Great idea! Makes psdtuts even more useful. Thank you!
collis – the Vimeo sidebar shows up single column on my browser as well. I’m using Firefox 2.0.0.15 on Windows XP
You guys are truly internet entrepreneurs. Keep expanding. I’m loving the quality of hard work you’re putting forth with each expansion.
Fantastic, I’m fortunate enough to have dual monitors and it’s a breeze to watch the vid on one and apply the techniques on the other. You guys ROCK!!
Slick !
Great :D
Was thinking about video tutorials the other day. Great that it is finally here at PSD Tuts.
Collis, I’m getting the single row of video thumbs as well and I’m on Safari.
I haven´t seen any video yet.. but this sounds great
Awesome, I like watching a few vid tuts to learn some stuff…should be cool…and i’m using firefox 2.0.0.15 in windows xp and I experience the same thing with the video user feed. One column.
hey collis what happend to ur text tuarials? the air text effect and other stuff u promised to bring….
What about podcasts? Is there any way to get the feed to just translate to a podcast? If so I think that would multiply the accessibility and ease of use factors by about 10.
Congrats I love to see expansion!
As a paid member, I think the video tutorials are a big step forward if there is something that I’ve missed then watching (for me) is a better way of understanding the steps involved.
Is it possible to get users to make the quality higher of the videos as when you go full screen the picture becomes mush!
AMEN ! I have clinical ADD which has hampered my education
my whole life. I just can’t maintain focus when reading. But I
do well with Good hands on Instruction or Video Tutorials if
they are produced well and the Audio is clear and concise.
I hope this Video portion of PSDTUTS will flourish with well
produced quality content. Maybe if this does well we could also
have the PSDTUTS Braile version for our Blind Designers !
jus’ kidding :)
THANKS !
EB
*a real live cripple w/ADD*
Hey! Cool! I will check it…
You should have an Imeem group! :)
WOW….if all the tuts are going to be on video this site will skyrocket.I will be on this site 24/7.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
what is a…’vimeo’?
Cool. Very Cool.
L2 – You can see a high res video for each, you just need to be a member of vimeo (Free) then head to the videos page and in the bottom right of the screen you will see a download link, if you click on that then the video will open in the format it was uploaded in and that should give you a crystal clear image for most of the videos.
Gavin
Not a bad idea.
Hey Collis,
Looks like problem is with Firefox. I am using FF 3.
Here is a SS
Rohil
This is a great idea, gotta check it out
Really nice!
Kind to small – hard to see details
Brilliant information, cheers
wow, this is brilliant. great one psdtuts
** High resolution **
wilko – you can see the videos in better detail if you click on the download link on the videos page. its in the bottom right corner.
this will load the videos in their original uploaded form.
Really good :)
