  1. Ok that was hard… Only 60% and I got some lucky guesses :)

  2. Creffart says:

That is hard! I got only 10%… :)

  3. dj says:

Come on Martin – where’s the “teachers review” screencast for these. I really would like to see you go over these same questions in a screen cast, perhaps showing a real life example of it being used, the next day – after we’ve been totally demoralized by our low scores. Seeing examples of a concept in use is a MUCH, much more effective teaching/learning technique. How about it? [for those of us who only get to see PS5 in our dreams it would be a great learning experience - not to mention an excellent sales tool for a product "evangelist" such as yourself.]

  4. I like the Quizzes! Even if I scored only 40% I wanted to end with this test to find the right answers! The first question/answer is great. I never used, and I always use fill opacity!

  5. first one i havent gotten 100% on. learned a couple new things today. thanks for the quiz. :)

  6. shamrizza says:

    damn….hahaha..test my brain

  7. Kevin says:

    I agree with DJ.
I love these quizzes and I respect Martin’s solid foundation in Photoshop and I want to learn more! Martin, if you see this comment, will you ever consider reviewing the topics in the quizzes in a video? I would love to see it!

    Thanks

  8. Gábor Kovacs says:

“Good! You scored 80%” Thank you Martin! (Köszi! :) This one the hardest.. ;) (Fill opacity shortcut… never heard about that, but not worked with num pad, and the shift+3 and shift+7 chnange the bland mode too :)))

  9. Kanchan Rai says:

Disappointing!! I got 40% ! :P Had some confusions with the questions, but My bad!! Anyways, I learned something! That’s good!

  10. Hoo very hard….Great test :)

  11. Neo Dust says:

    awww me too only 10%

  12. vasu says:

I got 30%. but likely I learned 100%. Thanks to psdtus.

  13. shawler says:

    got 40%…questions re lovely

  14. Lauren says:

Wow, that was actually difficult, usually they ask questions like, what keyboard shortcut shows the move tool? 70% and I learned a few new tidbits about the ol’ Pchop ;-)

  15. Elron says:

#1, you dont have to hold SHIFT. just press any number. [according to CS4]
    #5, whats Undoable?

    Not bad, 80%
    Good quiz martin!

    • Author

      Hi Elron,

You have to hold down Shift if you want to change the Fill Opacity with the numeric keys. If you don’t hold down the Shift you will change the Opacity of the selected layer.

Undoable means something that can be changed.

      Cheers,
      Martin

  16. shahra says:

sorry Martin, I got only 40%, but I’m not really disappointed, because I learned a lot through this quiz.
Well, I will sleep less stupid tonight !

  17. NUMBER 10 HAS 2 ANSWERS: You can do it the way the test says to do it OR just create the first layer mask as you normally would. Then, hold down Ctrl and click the layer mask icon and the bottom of the layers panel (done in CS5).

      Hi Ronald,

The question was about layer masks, which term is used for pixel masks. The way you referred to will add a second mask to the layer, but that will be a Vector Mask. Also useful to work with, but the question was about pixel masks.

Thanks a lot for your comment!

      Cheers,
      Martin

      • Beekeeper says:

Yes thats true martin, i assume the layer mask is any mask, because it didn’t refer as pixel mask (or may be in photoshop, layer mask = pixel mask?). If the question would have been like ‘layer mask to multiple layer then the group option make sense’. Iam just learning just like everybody correct me if iam wrong. Iam planning to take the cs5 exam and iam very keen on that.

  18. fashionhate says:

Thought this was gonna be easy, till i got to the first question.. 60%

  19. Only 20% haha Thank god If the client is satisfied…

  20. abney317 says:

    90%
5th question got me all confused

  21. Daniel says:

I think the 10th question has the incorrect answer, it is possible to have 2 layer masks on the same layer, you don’t have to group it, maybe if you need the 3rd one.

  22. EnBlanco says:

Very hard, 60% with lucky (my partner only 20%), question #1 doesn’t work for me in CS5.

Thank you for the quiz, I want more!

  23. Mikeski says:

    hahaha 30% = poor :-(

  24. ziggy says:

Tip: don’t overthink the questions. You’ll have the answer and change it after overthinking the question, and get only 80% like I did.

  25. seyi says:

    wew i scored 40%

  26. Dianilla says:

    Only 20% :( too bad

  27. Heath says:

  28. Ave says:

  29. adam jengcool says:
