30 Essential iPad Apps for Designers and Creatives

30 Essential iPad Apps for Designers and Creatives

A fancy new iPad is the perfect travel companion for any designer. The richness of the large multi-touch screen makes for some incredibly useful and fun apps that can really drive your creativity.

Today we’ll look at 30 different apps spanning several categories that can help designers out with everything from sketching and wire framing, to making notes and staying on task.

Fail. Remove “essential” from the title. No one needs 10 different drawing apps, for example. They are not all essential. These “30 this” and “50 that” lists are getting really old as the vast majority of them contain about 90% garbage.

Make a recommendation or two. Pare down the numbers to something realistic. “5 essential iPad apps for designers and creatives”? Now we’re talking.

In using a tired, cliched internet meme — an inside joke devised by someone else — you’ve managed to describe your own post. And embarrass yourself.

Otherwise you make a good point. As you say, remove “essential” from the title. Saul Bass needed none of these — not 30, not 5 apps.

Perhaps the word “useful” might be closer to the mark.

I wouldn’t even call them useful. Maybe ’30 Interesting Apps to try out as a web designer’ but that’s simply too long of a title. I’m going to just call a spade a spade here and offer the following title:

“We want more page hits on our iPhone Appstorm Site- click this link”

I never get why everyone spends the time commenting just to criticize articles. Sure, feedback can be helpful, but just being negative isn’t. If you guys are that concerned then write your own article the way you want to see it, and see how well it does. When you look at the work involved in building up the Envato network, as well as maintaining it, I think a little cross-promotion between sites is perfectly fine, particularly as this article will be of interest to many creatives here. It’s not like they’re spamming you with ‘make money quick!’ or a bunch of crappy ads, they’re simply providing regular, interesting content. /Rant.

Keep up the good work guys!

Whether these are essential, useful or even interesting is besides the point. The real question/comment is “Who the hell would use an iPad for design?”

    Gimmick.
