Adobe Announces Even More New Features for Photoshop at Event in NYC

Last weekend, I attended a couple of Photoshop Sneak Peek events that were sponsored by Adobe in New York City. At the event, Photoshop Sr. Product Manager Bryan O’Neil Hughes gave live presentations of some of the features they are working on for the next version of Photoshop. Some of what Hughes showed has already been announced in previous sneak peeks but he also demonstrated some never before seen features, as well. In this article, I will give you a quick recap of some of what I learned about the next version of Photoshop while I was there.

For the last few weeks, the Photoshop team has been giving us some sneak peeks of the latest version of Photoshop. The latest version of Photoshop is due to be released in the first half of 2012. We have already seen videos showing off Photoshop’s new look, and some performance enhancements but this video shows us something new, something that we have been asking them to include for a long, long time – dotted and dashed lines.

This will be a great opportunity to see for yourself what the Photoshop team is working on. I’ll be attending and would love to see you there if you’re in the area. The Photoshop Team is Looking for Their Next Evangelist

The Photoshop team is looking for their next evangelist. They just announced a contest asking for Photoshop users to submit their own hidden gem tutorial, and we would like the winner to be a Psdtuts+ reader or author! A hidden gem video needs to explain a lesser known feature or workflow of Photoshop. Each video would need to be 2 minutes or less and would need to mention “hidden gems.”

In this video, Photoshop Senior Product Manager Bryan O’Neil Hughes gives us a sneak at Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw and Adobe Photoshop CS6. The most dramatic change that you will notice from this video might be the darker color of the new interface (although this can be adjusted). What do you think? What features would you like to see in Photoshop CS6 when it is released some time during the first half of 2012?
