These days, it seems like if you don’t already own an iPhone, you’re probably thinking about getting one. Over the last couple of years, the popularity of the iPhone has really taken off. Because of this, most designers have found the need to incorporate the iPhone into a design at least once in their career. With the release of the new iPhone 4, we now need to replace our old iPhone designs with an updated one. That is why today we are releasing a free iPhone 4 PSD file for you guys to incorporate into your work.
A Scalable Vector iPhone 4 PSD File Included
This download includes a fully scalable vector iPhone 4 PSD file that you can use in your own designs. It was designed by Cambridge-based designer, Hector Janse van Rensburg from Inkpilot.com. Feel free to download this file and check it out.

This is great, thanks guys. Much appreciated.
Great job on keeping it scalable, very organized.
tyvm ))) i love it
Thank You Hector – btw. I like your Logo.
Thanks! I cringe every time I see the old 3G/3GS graphic in my designs now. ;)
Wow, very nice! Thank you!
well, it isnt scalable up, he has taken a screenshot for the interface.
Vectortuts+ released one as well. Have a look there if you want a scaleable one.
I remember that one, but it sort of defeats the point.
Telmac, thanks for your comment. I think that to make the ‘photo’ icon of the iPhone 4 interface out of paths in photoshop would be a feat in itself, but who needs high resolution recreations of it when you have the retina display! Anyway, this was mainly aimed at app developers who wanted to showcase their creations, in which case a picture of the homescreen would be of limited use.
Hi PSD TuT! I really love this freebie. Thank you for sharing it. However, I’ve always been interested in creating an iPhone (any model) from scratch with the use of Photoshop not illustrator (Illustrator gives me a hard time to have full control of it). But if you do have video tutorial on how to create an iPhone from scratch could you please send me a link to my e-mail? I’d really appreciate it. Thank you.
Glad you like the design! The best way to learn from this tutorial is to look at the individual layers and the blending options applied to each. Mainly it’s just attention to detail that it does; making this design made me realise that subtlety and pixel-perfect detail really make the difference even if you can’t see it. If you pull apart the camera lens then you’ll see about 11 different layers. This is especially true with Apple products because of the care they take in the finer details. It’s not the drawing that is challenging on this design – it’s just a collection of rounded rectangles and circles really.
You’re right. I just made some iPad and iPhone. They’re all just made from circles, rounded rectangle, and some layer styles.
The important thing is to keep all the details.
Thank you – a freebie is always welcome!
Much obliged *clicks download
Wow perfect timing. I was just mocking up an iPhone app and I was doing in an Iphone 3G template. This will make it look much better. Thank you Hector.

Yikes! I don’t know how that happened but thanks for pointing it out. I’ve made a fixed version and emailed it to tutsplus, so we’ll see if they update it.

Superb design, Hector..
It would be great to learn something for me by looking at the layers and effects..
This is a really stunning PSD, I love the detail. I’ll definately be studying this to see how it is all put together. Would be good to see more freebies like this on here
Thanks!
This isn’t a great work, useless file
The screenshot inside the iPhone is not a vector, it is just a picture added in psd file, when I scaled it the front destroyed completely
What could be use of this file ?
Yasir, as I mentioned before this design was intended mainly for people who wanted to preview their apps where scaling at their end wasn’t a problem, as well as showing people how to create designs that maintain scalability. You say that the file is no use – however I think there are few uses of the home screen in a scalable format anyway. Thanks.
Great freebie by psdtuts! Love it. No one needs the home screen actually.
And Yasir Imran Mirza, no need to be bitter. This is free.
If you don’t like it then make one and share it with others.
Bitter, party of one!!!!
superb this! thanks a million!
going to use this to update the ancient phone on our mobile ski holidays homepage

Thenk you so much
hey
great tool, but just one question as someone who is designing a brchure for a local council…
I have not used iphone graphics in my designs to date, but can’t find anything specific online on Applie’s site about using drawn graphics, unless it is the copyrighted logo or name ‘iPhone’.
Does anyone know if this is actually allowed? I don’t want to use it and then the council get in trouble!!
Anyone know if I’m allowed to print a brochure with the graphic on? Even if I change the apple logo & it doesn’t say iphone?
Steve
Too cool!! thanks so much – great work! :)
