Psdtuts+ Presents – Exclusive Wallpaper By Saad Moosajee
Another extremely talented designer by the name of Saad Moosajee has volunteered to create an exclusive wallpaper for the readers of PsdTuts+. This month’s exclusive wallpaper features a typographical approach to the Tuts+ logo. Saad uses some unique looking techniques to give the simple Tuts+ logo some color and energy, so download the wallpaper and then view some of Saad’s other art.

When creating this wallpaper, I wanted to give a minimalistic feeling so that it flowed naturally on the users desktop, while also giving the focal point some complexity so that the viewer would not get bored after looking at it for a few days. To do this I created each letter individually via the 3D software Cinema 4D.
I chose this particular color scheme because my last few works have been a little dark, so I thought doing this rainbow-esque combination would be more unique. I completed this wallpaper over the period of two weeks, as I wanted to make sure each letter fit the picture before continuing on to the next.

What is the point of so much detail, when it not even looks good.

Because that is the style. This is a design style which some people like and others don’t. In my opinion it’s really good. but needs some adjustments.
Help me out guys, I saw his work on some oher site and there too he posted the same disgusting baboon. Since then I am intrigued. I mean what should I be looking for to appreciate the piece???
It is like layers of text and fracture object along with ExplosionFX. May be he just bought a new wacom and was trying to make something cool.
I m not an artist, but for me these are the most disgusting pieces I have ever seen.
Look at the colors, dark blue on black along with yellow? My little cousin can doodle better looking pieces and she is 14 months old.
They’re not exactly my cup of tea either, however, I can at least appreciate the time that I’m sure went into these… plus the free giveaway aspect of it.
Look he took his time to make these wallpapers, the least you can do appreciate them.

I think there has been a slight misunderstanding here. The only piece that was intended to be a wallpaper was the Tuts+ image, I think the others were simply included for show, as pointed out for instance that 361 degree image was client based and can’t be made into a wallpaper, I do however have more available here:

Also, as stated this was an experimental wallpaper for me so for those who like it i’m glad, and for those who dont, its no problem.
@Sharez Rafiq: Not quite, no text splines were used in c4d, each letter is built up individually out of polygons. Also, I would suggest you either learn better English or better manners, there are ways to critique and criticize work without sounding like a jerk. Lastly, I’m not sure what your issue is with ‘disgusting baboons’ but that stock was recommended for the tutorial llustration by Computer Arts Magazine.
All I can appreciate in your wallpaper is just the fact that you took you worked and it took time.
Yeah, actually a baboon once tried to chew my finger thats why I don’t like baboons…LOL But the real thing is that whenever I see this baboon with those lines all around him, it reminds me of Haunting In Connecticut (remember all that stuff oozing out of that poor boy’s mouth?)
It doesn’t matter how you did the lettering, but one thing is for sure… it looks kinda ugly.

And yup you can call me a jerk as long as you promise to come up with something better next time. And I am still asking tell me how to learn to appreciate this kind of art, like what should I be looking for if I ever come across with something like this?
hey! just say that you don’t like it and shut up, you’re not gonna win anything by insulting his work, it’s not cool to say bad things about a person that you don’t even know, at least ask him why he made it that way, maybe you will find your answers :)

Even Fabio in his site, abduzeedo, doing interview with Saad, showcasing his work, feature some wallpapers from him.
You need to learn more manner. Saad is a respected artist. Have you seen more of his work?

I am sorry because I don’t believe in sugar coated criticism. If all you want is to hear his praises then I promise I’ll be quite from now on. I respect Saad as a person, but the fact is that I am so tasteless that his work doesn’t inspire me and Saad keep up the good work brother.
Art is relative. You may not like it, but I may be love it. That is just a matter of opinion.
Critic is very important. However, you must share it in better way, not just “I hate it” but you must also give reasons behind it. You don’t have to be an expert to criticize, but you have learn to say it wisely.
Please, don’t stay quite. We’re part of a great community here. :)

I just saw your comment and I agree with u that insulting someone is not something to be proud off but I am sure that I was not the one who called him a jerk but he did.
If being a renowned artist gives you the right to call people jerks than he sure did a right thing and I should be the one excusing myself. :)
