Final Product What You'll Be Creating

Today’s Psd Premium tutorial by author Mark Mayers will focus on creating a brand for a fictitious skate company and also applying graphics to a skate deck and T-shirt. We’ll demonstrate how to achieve professional results every time – both items were actually printed using the tutorial techniques. For screen-print fanatics, there’s an extra bonus; you’ll discover how the Apply Image command enables you to create knockouts and error-free spot colors without the need for expensive RIP software. Special thanks to Steve over at Advertees for printing the shirts and providing invaluable technical advice. This tutorial is available exclusively to Premium Members. Great Job buddy, although most people use illustrator for this technique, Photoshop can do it too

Where do you put it on a board? Is it a shop or something that does this for you? Or is it printed on a sticker

I have never in my life had a TShirt printer allow me to submit a photoshop file for printing.

Maybe you should redo this tut in illustrator only.

    Thanks

I have had about a dozen shirts printed by various companies, and only once did they require an illustrator file as opposed to a photoshop one. It really depends on where you go…

Photoshop and Illustrator, both allow for techniques that the other does not. The above tutorial was only appropriate for the former.

Perhaps you should try a few different printers. Advertees and Threadbird are examples of printers who cater for techniques outside of vectors.

Most shops will take either Photoshop or Illustrator, it all depends on how comfortable there graphics department is with doing separations in either program. Promotional product distributors always want vector artwork, but most Screen Printers actually use Photoshop to do the majority of there separations.

I have used both and as stated previously both have there advantages depending on what you are printing.

Remember just because you do something a particular way, doesn’t mean everyone else does.

I print t-shirts, both screen print and direct-to-garment, and as long as the image is the correct size and 250 dpi or higher, photoshop files are fine. We accept .PDF, .tiff, .psd, .ai images, as long as they are prepared correctly.
