Final Product What You'll Be Creating
Photoshop is an excellent tool for manipulating photographs but it can also be used as a means to create stunning digital art. This tutorial is part of a 25-part video tutorial series demonstrating everything you will need to know to start producing digital art in Photoshop. Digital Art for Beginners, by Adobe Certified Expert and Instructor, Martin Perhiniak will begin by teaching you how to draw in Photoshop. At the conclusion of this series you will know all you need to produce your own concept art and matte paintings in Photoshop.
Today’s tutorial Part 7: How to Work With Perspective in Photoshop will explain a bit about the theory behind perspective and will focus on how to set up construction lines, vanishing points and a horizon. We will also show different ways to create a perspective grid and then use it for drawing three-dimensional objects. These techniques are useful for retouching photographs, but crucial for digital art. Let’s get started!
Great instructional video! Thanks

Awesome! Thanks!
Thanks! I really don’t know to paint, and maybe it`s because of my ignorance in drawing techniques!
Great tutorial ! Love the accent, a hint of English and a hit of Scandinavian in there :)
Thanks… I love this tutorial… excelent explain…
Thanks, Martin. Always learning from you.
I am waiting another topics from you because as a teacher you are handsome.
Great tutorial! you are hypnotizing me ;)
Yea
I’ve run into problems trying to produce the master perspective grid. Is there any chance of getting the written text for this tut? Usually I can follow MP’s excellent tuts without problems, even though I’m using CS3. Mine seems to go awray after I draw a vertical line with the line tool and click Control T. I cannot select the end anchor point. So I go ahead and enter the 2 degree and press enter; the line rotates but I have lost the original. This should be so basic – anyone help? Regards
Hi Currybill,
When you want to transform and copy the line instead of Ctrl+T use Alt+Control+T. Alt means copy most of the times in Photoshop (among many other things :)
Good luck and I hope now you will be able to follow the tutorial properly.
Unfortunately there is no written text for my tuts as I plan everything in head and I don’t write down anything. I know it would be useful and I’m thinking on a way to solve the problem.
Cheers,
Martin

Incredible Martin! Really simple and comprehensive guide to start figure things out with perspective. But, i got myself much more interested into it :P I think it should be really nice if you got a little bit more deep into perspective. Again, thank you world! Thank you Martin and PsdTuts. Great tutorial as usual! Perspective was always a tough subject to understand for me. But watching your tutorial has really helped me. Thanks
Martin, Many thanks! I have learned so much- please continue with your tutorials.
Great tutorial, you are truly awesome Martin! Only 1 small problem while trying to follow along for the grid… I managed to get create the shortcut, but it’s not copying the lines each time, just rotating it 2 degrees. What step am I missing / not doing properly?
He answered this question already.
