  2. Ok, so ahm ahm….
Well I have got to admit that after some time; now its feeling that quality of tuts is really improved on all the Tuts+ sites, its like guys over there are really listening..and it feels awesome.

I just love this design, could definitely use some of these techniques in creating my own pieces. Great design and pretty detailed too, lovin’ it.

  3. lol another icon design tut!

What type of tutorials would you like to see?

      • Please don’t take this the wrong way, I can see that allot of time and effort goes into most of these tutorials. I apreciate them for what they are, but honestly icon’s don’t really stir any lust or interest in me, I would much rather see some solid creative retouching, typography or just some plain old illustrations. Again this is just my opinion i’m not saying that these tut’s are bad, just really hoping that we can see some more variety.

Is it supposed to look like a cartoon? If so, why not use Illustrator and have some scalability?

      Hi there!
No it’s not to look like a cartoon, the idea is just create an icon.
I know that with vectors you can work with infinite sizes, but if you create a big file size in Photoshop you know that you will never need something bigger. By the way in this case illustrator works like Photoshop so I think try do this tutorial with illustrator would be fine!

      Cheers

Hi, over all it’s a great tutorial. Good Job. I had one question though. When you went through the steps of creating the blue glass. How did you get the ellipse tool to move around while you were creating the circle.
I tried to shift click and create the circle but when I press space bar I couldn’t get it to move around without creating the shape.

Hi, thank you very much for your comment!
Well I never had a problem like this. What I recommend you to do is restart the program and if it doesn’t work try to verify the shortcuts list.
Let me know if it works or not! :D

      Cheers
      André

  10. Lovely camera lens icon! Thank you for the tutorial. LT

    Hi Andre,

thanks for this tutorial, and thanks for your time and effort.
It was very usefull in learning and adapting this techniques into some of my new ideas.

i would like to suggest, that if you make some video-tut again, please try to speak a bit slower or at least with some more articulation, cause at times i had to rewind and rewind and rewind to understand what you said :-)))))

Maybe your native language is spoken very fast?

anyway , thanks a lot! and keep them coming,
any other place where you have tutorials?

    peace

Thank you very much for your comment! :D
Well, after watch the tutorial again I noticed I talk too fast xD
I think it’s because I’m used to record tutorials for my youtube channel (youtube.com/drekw2), where I have to be fast because now I only have 15 minutes, however at some months ago the time limit was 10 mins.

      Cheers

  13. Pablo says:

    Please try speaking more slowly.

  14. Liam says:

Talk way too fast even if artists familiar with the tools would have trouble keeping an eye on both your screen and their own.

  15. Zoe says:

Thanks for your very insightful tutorial! It was very useful & easy to follow!

  16. Cgbaran says:

  17. Jeff says:

    Andre,
Excellent tutorial, it was easy to follow and helped me reproduce the lens very close to the original. I have a question about using this particular image that i created while following your tutorial. Please email me so I can ask you about whether you would mind me using it. Thank you very much, and I hope to hear from you soon!

  18. Thanks a bunch André! Really helpful tutorial. One question though, with me being a newcomer to Photoshop, why do you choose so precise numbers for example the angles? Like 44 instead of 45, 51 instead of 50. You getting me? Thanks again!

  19. keerthishree says:

I’m very much Thanks for tutorial…

  20. Kieran Hawes says:

Great tutorial, some really nice skills in there, thanks!

  21. Jeff says:

Dude, slow dude and stop talking so fast. Hitting pause and backing up all the time gets really annoying.
