Wow, this is real nice, it has been a long time since i wanted to comment on anything here since i think most has sucked lately, sorry!

But this is real good stuff.

I think, that´s one of the best tutorials I´ve ever seen here!

    Thank you very much!

Beautiful work! I was trying to make out the little animal(s) near the toe..so detailed! And that block of water? pretty wonderful placement/execution. Definitely checking this out.

I miss the old days of coming here multiple times a week and crunching awesome tutorials. Seems like the only ones that fit the PSDtuts mold anymore are all paid-only. All the free stuff is either glorified Graphic River ads, best-of lists, really simple stuff a kid could do, they involve a bunch of 3D apps, or needing really good drawing abilities (translated: tutorial might as well read “just draw this! the end”).

      Pretty much this.

The site is on the decline, there is no doubt about it.

I was looking on some of the other Tuts+ sites, (the flash one) and that seems to be doing great. It has a bunch of cool tutorials and active members.
Why does psdtuts+ not try to follow the lead of some the other sites in the network?

I think, through all these years, the bar was set pretty high in this case. Look at the tutorials from the past and compare them to the ones that are now. There is a huge quality difference. Something that really excited you year ago might be barely attractive now. Maybe the free content didn’t change that much at all, you guys just became better designers with a stronger critique. Everything is moving forward quite fast, I bet psdtuts guys are doing what they can to provide the best solution here.

The Ad Man inside me is making me cringe… what’s the idea? What’s the product?

To call it an Ad is just funny, this is just an image meshed together.

The overall image is good! But not an advertisement ;)

Hi! Love your tutorials but a small inconvenience that u don’t provide all materials for premium users. It is ok to register on some photobanks but i don’t want to subscribe shutterstock for example and u provide links to the images from that resource so i have to find alternatives. Would be much cooler if you’ll make a download packs of images used in premium tutorials.

Thnx for what u r doing!

We try to find free images for you guys to use but unfortunately, that’s not always possible. In those cases we have to use paid stock photography to make the tutorial work. You are more than welcome to find alternative imagery though. Thanks for the feedback.
