With the release of Photoshop CS5 there have been substantial improvements to the noise reduction tools found inside of Camera Raw. In this tutorial we are going to be taking a jpeg image into Camera Raw and fixing both the color and luminance noise that can be found in the image. Let’s get started!

Ok thats really nice but f you dont have a camera raw file format that what you can do to reduce the noise?

    • Steve

you don’t need the raw file. Watch the video again, this is all done using jpg files.

      • Madalincmc

Yes you are right, i skipped the first part of the video and didnt know you can oped jpeg images like camera raw.

    • Remy Cote

Really enjoyed the tutorial. I have been interested in learning more and more about how to edit your own personal digital photos and this specific tutorial has been one I have been looking for. It was excellent and now it is time for me to practice! Thanks!

    Great!

If you set Camera RAW to open jpgs and also tif files automatically when loading them into Photoshop it does help. This could be why Madalincmc was confused. since Camera RAW does not automatically open them by default.
