a question about the first example with website you designed. i always wondered if you can export this file as a website. i know that with prefixes in the layer name you can export a dvd- or bluraymenu designed in photoshop right into adobe encore, is there a way like this for websites? does the new muse support it?
or if no for all the previous questions, what would your next step be then, Martin?

      Hi Kristof,

Thanks for your question. You can use slices and then choose Save for Web and Devices from the File menu. With that you can save an HTML file with the slices saved into JPEGs, GIFs or PNGs. Once you have that you can use Dreamweaver for example to add the code to the site. I haven’t tried Muse yet, but that is supposed to help you finish the workflow without writing any code.

I hope that explains your questions!

I will do a tutorial in this series about Slices in Photoshop, so keep following :)

Martin! You just showed me how to save so much time! LOL In the past, I would ‘Create Layer’ of the drop shadow, then, mask it. Then, I would click on the thumbnail of the image itself, not the shadow layer. With the image layer active, I would ‘select’ the shadow layer and paint the mask, removing those parts of the shadow. So, that’s, what, 4 steps? LOL Thank you for showing this!

    Hi Martin,

    Learned something new today.

When applying a gradient to multiple elements by adding the effect to the group does not give the same effect as applying it to all elements separately. The gradient is applied to the group of objects instead of to the elements.

Is there a fix to fix this? Same happens when you apply a gradient to a stroke. The stroke is applied to all elements separately, but the gradient is applied to the group of elements.

Hope you have a solution… would save me a lot of time.

    Regards!

  • hi

These tutorials that Martin make are so core, yet so overlooked. They are absolutely essential for people like me (beginners). There is such an abundance of information in the tutorials he does. I will need to revisit them again. Thank you, Martin, and PSDTuts.
