Thanks for the feedback. This tutorial is part of our Introduction to Photoshop CS6 series. This series is meant to show our readers all the new features of Photoshop CS6. The goal of the series isn’t to explain advanced techniques, its only to point out the new features so that you know they exist. We will start publishing more advanced tutorials using these features later down the line.

I am sure you will post more complexe tutorials, and i undestand that you want to inform the public about cs 6 new features, but i dont like this new aproach: short video tutorails for every single new feature. I love psd.tuts plus and i thank you for the great job you do here!

agreed.. A very in-depth look at a feature many may not know about.. and the demonstration of how it might be used was fascinating.. Next a tutorial on the new focus gallery… that will show you where to find them… wooooow

    Hey Grant,

I really appreciate these tutorials so please don’t get me wrong when I say I’d rather see lots more tips altogether instead of getting an email telling me there is a tip. I click on the link and find the tips are less than a minute. Again these are great tips and it may be just my own opinion but it’s cumbersome and I feel like it’s a waste to have 1 whole post dedicated to such a short tip. Thinking ahead a lot of other tutors would have made similar tuts with more info making this post… no so useful.

Or maybe I’m just used to people making compilations of all the little gems into one big exciting vid.

Apart from that I look forward to seeing the advanced tutorials.

I appreciate the feedback on this series. Because long video tutorials can be hard to follow, I try to keep mine as short as possible. Especially for a video showcasing a feature as straightforward as this one. The purpose of the Introduction to Photoshop CS6 series is simply to point out the new features of CS6 so that when it is released, our readers can quickly pick and choose which features they are most interested in. Is this the right approach? To be honest, I’m not completely sure. I suppose it’s something we’ll find out soon enough.

Agree!. Hope one day you can teach us more on Photo Manipulation or attach our photo to a movie poster something like that :)
Thanks for the wonderful tutorial above ;)

    really interesting guide

I hate to point out the obvious but should you have used photo that demonstrated the feature better. A large amount of skin isn’t selected and her hair and part of her dress were also selected. All this does is show me another feature I won’t trust Adobe to do automatically for me.
