How to Design a Rockin’ 80’s Party Poster – Screencast

Jan 27th in Screencasts by Gavin Steele

"In this tutorial, I'll show you how to design a poster for an 80's anthem party. Throughout this tutorial, we'll create some textures for background, manipulate a photo to give it a stylish look, and make some color variations. Let's jump into this super rad tutorial." Eren Gšksel

I have to say, and I really am not having a go at anyone here… the quality of the tutorials on PSDTUTS has dropped signifcantly.

The art direction on the last few have been very amateurish. Being a design professional, I have gone from enjoying PSDTUTs and learning new and efficient ways of producing great effects to cringing everytime I look at the finished art!

Maybe it is time to tighten the reins on who actually produces these tutorials.

    My two cents

You could at least choose a more complex tut to make explanations of techniques more visual and easy to follow via video :)

The final product is just as unauthentic as the original tut.

These videos are just to support the main tutorial. If there are any issues with the quality of the actual recording I will happily address them. As for the final result, I try my best to follow all the steps in the given tutorial and sometimes offer an alternative process to a design.
The screen-casts are in support of the tutorial and should be used in conjunction with them. Often the designers spend a lot of time explain choices and trends, I do not cover thee in the screen-casts.
    Thanks,
    Gavin
