Super Fast and Easy Facial Retouching in Photoshop

Oct 9th in Screencasts by Gavin Steele

In this tutorial I will show you how to repair some image noise from a low quality shot and I will show you an extremely quick and easy way to smooth out a person's face. The woman in this shot is not a model and she has a lot of character so we don't want to over do it with the smoothing. We will make it look real and natural - Kyle Pero

    My problem came in at the 2:34 mark when he used the healing brush. He created a new layer but that layer is blank, so it didn’t make sense how he could sample anything. That’s the part i’m having problem with.

    @Nick

    You need to sample (alt-click) on the source image with the healing tool first. Then create the new layer., and you’re good to go! :) just like working with the clone tool
